Safeguarding

Safeguarding Statement and Procedures

tastetheblue is committed to the safeguarding of children, vulnerable adults, and persons at risk.

Course Bookings

Vulnerable adults and adults at risk will, at the discretion of the Principal, be accepted on to relevant courses. This will involve prior approval, usually following discussion with any interested parties and carers/authorities. Where necessary a chaperone may be required.

Unaccompanied under-18's will not be accepted on to any course. They may, at the discretion of the Principal, attend a course with a designated responsible adult (normally a parent or guardian), however this must be with prior approval. tastetheblue will not conduct any regulated activity, including residential or formal education of young people.

References

tastetheblue will take references for all staff, regardless of any specific groups they may be working with. Where necessary this may include disclosure and barring self declaration and formal checks through the RYA as an umbrella body.

Code of Conduct

All instructors are expected to follow the RYA Code of Conduct whenever they are working for tastetheblue (regardless of whether or not the course is RYA accredited).
